Introducing Mrs. Iannelli!

Today’s post introduces Mrs. Danielle Iannelli, one of our two 5th Grade Teachers. Mrs. Iannelli joined St. Viator Elementary School this school year, but she previously taught at St. Maria Goretti Elementary School for fourteen years prior to their closing. She completed her degree at Dominican University.

We asked Mrs. Iannelli about her favorite aspect of teaching. Drawing on her years of experience, she answered, “Creating engaging lessons that incorporate popular culture such as music, trends, and Disney!” We continued with her favorite thing about St. Viator Elementary School. She told us, “I love the diverse group of students and teachers! I came from a very small school, so working with a larger community is amazing!”

As we always do, we gave Mrs. Iannelli a list of questions to answer so that we could all get to know her a little better. Here are the questions and her answers:

What is your favorite color?

Pink and glitter (which I consider a color!)

What is your favorite food?

I love sushi, especially from the new train restaurants where you pull the plates (off of the train cars).

What is your favorite holiday?

Halloween. My family and I take group costumes very seriously, and we love to work with a theme.

When is your birthday?

October 3

Do you have any hidden talents?

Nope.*

*It is this writer’s belief that anyone who creates family-sized, themed, group Halloween costumes is working with some serious creativity!

What is your favorite drink to get your morning started?

I must have my coffee, and luckily I pass a Dunkin’ every day if I don't have time at home!

Anything you can tell us about your family or pets?

I have 2 boys; Sabino is 3 years old, and Nico is 6 months old, as well as an amazing husband. They are my number 1 cheerleaders in life, in addition to my Dad and sister. Next year, Sabino will be in Pre-K here!

Do you have any hobbies?

Activities with my family, anything related to music and concerts, and DISNEY! We go every year as a family. It is for sure our happy place!

What is something you wish the parents of your students knew?

I wish they knew how much I truly care for each of their children, and how I only wish to support them and see them grow intellectually and spiritually.

What is the most helpful thing a parent can do for your class this year?

Be involved! Ask your child questions about school each day - what are they learning, how are their days.

What professional accomplishment are you most proud of?

My nomination for a Golden Apple Teaching Award

What is your favorite book ?

Charlotte's Web

If you weren’t a teacher, what profession would you choose?

Hmmmm...not really sure! A nurse like my mom, so I am still caring for people.

Who is your hero?

My parents

And with that, we all know a bit more about Mrs. Danielle Iannelli. We hope you have enjoyed Mrs. Iannelli’s introduction. While we don’t like hearing about other school closures, we are grateful that those changes brought her to St. Viator Elementary School. We wish Mrs. Iannelli a safe and happy wrap-up to the school year!
