St. Viator Elementary Students attend morning Mass each Wednesday. Today, they heard the Gospel message about welcoming Jesus, and listened to Father Ben reflect on service to others as a demonstration of our reverence for Jesus. They are preparing for Advent.
There are also Thanksgiving prayer services scheduled for this week. The preschool students held theirs today, marking their first trip into the church as students.
The prayer service included a short reading with a call and response exercise. The children also sang a song expressing their gratitude.
The students colored cornucopia pictures, which they brought up to a basket near the altar. Each student was invited to share one thing they were grateful for. Popular answers included parents, siblings, teachers, and even a couple students who said they were grateful for school!
It was great to see the parents who were able to join the service. They enjoyed the glimpse into the preschool day.
The preschool students will have two to three more prayer services before the end of the year. Thank you to Mrs. Sutfin, Mrs. North, Ms. Elizabeth for organizing a thankful service for our youngest learners. We left and the sun was shining on the grateful students!
We are Peace Builders; We are Eagles; We are St. Viator!
